Amy Frisch received her MSW from Fordham University and has been practicing in the Hudson Valley area since 1994. She has worked extensively with Hospice, providing support and guidance to terminally ill patients and their families, and has worked for the Family and Child Unit at Ulster County Mental Health Department. Amy currently maintains a private practice in New Paltz, NY, specializing in work with adolescent girls. Amy facilitates It’s a girl thing! An expressive arts support group for teen girls and The Mother/Daughter Connection: a group for women raising teenage daughters.

Amy believes that therapy is not only the process of learning about yourSelf in relation with others, but therapy is about CHANGE--taking action and finding solutions to live your life more fully. Amy’s style is direct, yet supportive. She uses a strength based approach, with the belief that each person has inside themselves the wisdom they need to heal.
