About American Silk Screening

American Silk Screening began on July 4, 2003 in the basement of our home in Southington, Connecticut. Initially, we only ran American Silk Screening part-time while continuing to work full time at our other jobs, but as business grew, Brian decided to leave his job in manufacturing and work for himself full time.

Almost immediately after we opened, many customers began to ask if we did embroidering. Seeing a demand, we ordered three fifteen-color embroidering machines, and by December 15, 2003, they were up and running. Now we have the ability to embroider a wide variety of articles including shirts, sweats, shorts, duffle bags, headbands, hats, and directors' chairs.

The business grew rapidly, and we no longer had enough space in the basement, so on December 1, 2005 we relocated to 172 Stanley Street in New Britain, Connecticut. We operate today at 384 Deming Road, Berlin, Connecticut. This location and customer base in the area has been a good fit for American Silk Screening.

With the new storefront, business increased and a new demand for large quantities of shirts surfaced leading us to buy a new automatic machine, capable of producing 700 shirts per hour.

Some of our clients include Choate Rosemary Academy, Holy Cross, Fairfield University, Central Connecticut State University, Southington High School, Friendly Ice Cream Corporation, Eagle Fence & Guardrail, Stag Arms, New Britain YWCA, New Britain Rock Cats, and Race for the Cure.
