A. We are based in Portland, Maine and as an interstate carrier; we primarily serve Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, but our charters go anywhere!

Q. Why should I use Mermaid Transportation?

A. Mermaid Transportation has been providing safe, reliable and courteous transportation since 1982 with outstanding customer service.

Q. What primary airports do you serve?

A. Boston's Logan Airport, Manchester, N.H. Airport, Pease International Tradeport and the Portland International Jetport.

Q. What are your office hours?

A. Monday through Friday 8AM-6:30PM. Saturday and Sunday 9AM-5PM.

Q. How long is the ride from either Logan or Manchester to Portland? And where do you drop off in Portland?

A. It usually takes about two hours from either airport to Portland (depending on traffic and weather conditions) and we drop off in Portland at the Jetport, the Thompson Point Parking area all hotels and Casco Bay Ferry Lines.

Q. Can I check fares or make a reservation on the Internet?

A Yes! Go to www.gomermaid.com our site is secured so you can book a reservation with your credit card (we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

Q. If I make a reservation on line, how can I get a confirmation?

A. You will automatically receive a confirmation of your trip via e mail.

Q. How do I find the van?

A. If you make a reservation on-line the pick up instructions will be displayed. If you call our office, one of our helpful staff will give you directions.

Q. Why do you need my arriving flight number?

A. Because we track every flight and if there is a delay we will attempt to place you on our next van out of the airport that fits your new arrival time.

Q. What if my plane is late, will you wait?

A. Depending on how late, we can usually wait 20+ minutes, after that we will put you on the next Mermaid van out of that airport. If you were scheduled to be on our last van of the day and your plane is running very late, we cannot accommodate you and will call your home (or any number you give us to leave that message). There is never a charge for a cancelled flight or excessive delay that is beyond your control.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. Mermaid Transportation has a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if you have to cancel, just make sure you notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled arrival or departure time.

Q. Are there discounts for groups traveling together?

A. Yes, the more in your party, the more you save.

Q. Are you just airports?

A. No, by no means - Mermaid Transportation offers executive vehicle service, charter services for corporate and private groups, disability transportation - anywhere!

Q. Do you have wheelchair accessible vehicles?

A. Our Assisted Services program insures wheelchair lift vans for either airport or charter transportation. and never with an extra charge.

Q. We are having a wedding next summer - can you provide transportation for our guests?

A.  Yes!  We are your designated drivers and we can offer transportation services for your guests from the airport to their hotel (and back), rehearsal dinner, golf and sightseeing outings, luncheons, the wedding, the reception and a brunch the next day.  Large or small, we can handle all your wedding transportation needs.  And a very unique vehicle - our fire truck.  It's a special occasion - and we know it.

Q. Do you have home pick ups and drop-offs?

A. Yes, our new Jetport Express in the Greater Portland area (up to Freeport) and at a modest charge is the answer.

A. Yes, please let us know your needs - there is never a charge.
