Business Hours: In order to keep prices as low as possible, our very small,
family owned business has business hours that vary. In general, we do our best
to offer pickups between 8:00 and 3:00 daily. However, if we have an
out-of-town call, we may not be able to complete your pickup until the next
day--almost always within 24 hours. We offer after hour, weekend, and holiday
pickups for an addition charge. Please contact us at 573-579-0706 anytime. If
we are unavailable, please leave a message. We will return your call and
provide you the assistance you need as quickly as we can.

Private
Cremation: A Private Cremation means that you will receive your pet,
and only your pet's ashes back. Upon completion, your pet's ashes will be
returned to you in a white, non-decorative box. On average, you will have your
pet's ashes within 5 days. While some choose to scatter or bury their pet's
ashes, we find that most prefer to purchase an urn to display in their home or
office. If you decide to purchase an urn, we would be happy to place the ashes
in it for you. The cost of private cremation includes local pickup at your home
or veterinarian's office during normal business hours. Weekend, evening, and
holiday pickups are subject to an additional fee. If you wish to bring us your
pet, we welcome you to call and schedule a personal visit.
Viewing Window: Occasionally we have a client ask if
they may be present during their pet's cremation. We do offer a small sitting
area and viewing window into the crematory room. Because a typical cremation
takes 3-6 hours to complete, an appointment must be made in advance to
accommodate this request.
Mass Cremation: A Mass
Cremation means that your pet will be placed in the cremation chamber with other
pets. With a mass cremation, you do not receive any ashes back. According to
some national statistics, over 75% of deceased pets are cremated and 30% of
those cremations are mass. Mass cremation is often chosen because it is
economical, dignified, and because many cities have statutes prohibiting the
home burial of a pet. The cost of a mass cremation includes local pickup at your
home or veterinarian's office during normal business hours. Evening, weekend,
and holiday pickups are subject to an additional fee. Like private cremation,
the cost for a mass cremation is based on the weight of the
pet.
0-50 pounds $30.00 51-100 pounds $40.00
101-300 pounds $50.00
Notification: Upon death of your
pet, you, a friend, or veterinarian may contact us for pickup. We simply need
your contact information and type of cremation to be completed (private or
mass). If applicable, we will contact you prior to completion to discuss
payment, memorial options, and delivery of
ashes.
Payment: Payment in full must be received before
the return of your pet's ashes. We accept the following:
1. Check by mail to
The Hill Pet Crematory, PO Box 22, Pocahontas, MO 63779
2. Payment directly
to your veterinarian
Horses: While we personally can not
accomodate horses, we do work with a crematory who offers pickup and cremation
for your horse. Please contact us for more information immediately upon the
death of your horse.
