July 4, 1923 - with 201 members - the then Ashtabula Country Club commissioned Bertie Way (a pro with the Mayfield Country Club in Cleveland) to design their 9-hole course. Land was acquired through David Loeb, Sr., partner W. H. Young, and J. P. Dodge representing Ashtabula Realty. In 1924, Mrs. Mary E. Crofoot sold land for the remaining 9 holes to complete the 18 holes now in existence.
In 1929, the ACC opened a full, 18-hole golf course. In 1960, a devastating fire destroyed the clubhouse including all records and memorabilia of the club's history. After shutting down for a year, the course reopened with a new clubhouse, pool, and tennis courts paid for through contributions directly from its members.
At the Harbor Golf Club, you can enjoy country club elegance for your family or business. The Harbor Golf Club offers an 18-hole (par 70) course, driving range, putting green, and clubhouse with a full-service bar.
