A LOCAL TRADITION - OUR STORY
Bravo Farms began in 1979 as a small dairy farm in Visalia, California. Family members ran the dairy for several years before a decision was reached to expand and evolve into farmstead cheesemakers. This was not an easy task as being the first farmstead cheesemakers in the San Joaquin Valley became a challenging endeavor in many ways. It didn't take long however, before Bravo Farms developed a wonderful recipe for a farmhouse cheddar, which is now known as one of the best in the world. Demand for Bravo Farm products has grown steadily. Recently, Bravo Farms partnered with a young artisan cheesemaker, Jonathan Van Ryn, who studied cheesemaking at California Polytechnic University. This new partnership at Bravo Farms has allowed us to now make larger quantities of cheese to meet the increasing demand and yet continue to maintain the very high quality of the product. Bravo Farms now makes several varieties of cheese and continues to produce some of the best cheese worldwide.
