Milk & Honey Cafe'
We're so glad at Milk & Honey to be available to serve you each day at our cozy cafe' at The Camp in Costa Mesa. For you outdoor types, we have a cute open air patio filled with plants and succulents where you can spend a lazy day or balmy evening just lounging around! The interior is decked out in dark wood decor and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and offers one of almost everyone's hot-weather treat: Shaved ice.
The Korean-style patbingsoo (shaved ice served with sweet red beans, fruit and condensed milk) has been a huge trend for awhile in shops across Korean-populated cities like Garden Grove and Buena Park. But Milk & Honey’s version, which comes with what else but a splash of milk and drizzle of honey, is an homage to a Japanese frozen treat called kakigori …
You can get regular shaved ice doused with a variety of flavored syrups for $3.75 (or $4.75 for a large). There’s strawberry, green tea, raspberry, mango, passionfruit and key lime pie. Then you can choose from the usual assortment of fruit and cereal toppings — it’s 75 cents for the first topping, 50 cents for the second and 25 cents for the third.
But it doesn’t stop at icy desserts. There’s also blended drinks like smoothies, chai tea coolers and organic teas and coffee. Some tasty looking pastry offerings, too: Little round cakes in Red Velvet, fresh berry and carrot, all made by local bakers and caterers daily. We make everything fresh, and though this might make the wait a little bit longer, we're sure you'll agree that it's well worth it for the quality of food.
